Managerial, Professional, and Technical Questionnaire (MPTQ)

This assessment reports on three scales and is suitable for use in selecting a wide range of managerial, professional, and technical positions in the United States and Canada.
- Leadership and Drive for Results Index targets the success attributes of leadership, initiative, problem solving, and communication. It is applicable to a wide variety of managerial and professional jobs including marketing, sales, manufacturing, finance, accounting, and information technology, and others. It is based upon data obtained from over 1000 U.S. and Canadian managers and professionals in criterion-related validation studies. Separate norms are used for individuals applying for positions in Canada.
- Innovation Index targets three attributes (motivation, curiosity, persistence) that predict technical innovation. This scale is based upon a criterion-related validation study comprised of 600 research and development scientists in the United States, many of whom have distinguished careers in producing major scientific and technical breakthroughs that led to the development of innovative products.
- Thinking, Analysis, and Solutions Index provides an indication of how well the person would score on a general mental ability test and is based upon the ability of biodata items to predict performance on an internal Procter & Gamble problem solving test. This problem solving test, with which the Thinking, Analysis, and Solutions Index is highly correlated, has been found to be a strong predictor of actual job performance in many criterion-related validation studies. This index is normed upon individuals who attended U.S. colleges and universities and is only reported for these individuals.
