Breakfast with pan CEO draws top agencies and press in Washington, D.C.

CARMEL, Ind. (May 25, 2005) – Performance Assessment Network, Inc., (“pan”). World leader in online assessment and talent management announced that over 25 organizations were represented at a breakfast held in Washington, D.C.  The breakfast seminar entitled, “Best Practices in Web-Based Federal Employee Selection and Development – Improved Quality and Time to Hire of Candidates” focused on a sharing of current success stories where assessments are being used as a critical part of the decision making process for recruitment.

As federal agencies, other organizations and the economy continue to evolve at a rapid pace, the job of recruiting and retaining top quality candidates for all levels, but especially mid-tier managers, has become increasingly difficult and time consuming.  David T. Pfenninger, Ph.D. and CEO of pan, Inc., considered a pioneer in the field of utilizing online tests and assessments geared at assisting organizations in their continuous talent management process, shared his insight with a top tier group of individuals from federal agencies and national organizations.

“The federal government is faced today with making sure that they are able to hire the best quality candidates to fill mid-level manager positions that have been vacated by early retirements,” said Dr. Pfenninger.  “Recruiters are spending too much time in looking at the wrong resumes and applications and even interviewing the wrong people,” he added.  The seminar covered some great success stories within the federal government where the implementation of assessments early on in the recruitment process has allowed recruiters to spend their time hiring the best candidates rather than reading the wrong resumes.
