pan Chosen by Procter & Gamble to Assist in Automating Web Hiring Process

April, 2002. Indianapolis, IN – Procter & Gamble (P&G) has contracted with Performance Assessment Network, Inc. (pan) - to provide the candidate skills assessment technology in the P&G web-based hiring system. In the first phase of the contract, pan will web-enable three of the P&G proprietary "bio-data" assessments and a pre-screening assessment. pan will integrate the test results back into P&G's applicant tracking system (ATS), managed by another web-based application provider.

This new capability will be accessible to candidates via P&G's corporate website and delivered via P&G's recruiting workflow utilizing a variety of assessments to determine which candidates are most qualified for consideration. The introduction will be managed in phases starting in P&G's Asian, Central and Eastern European businesses, with North America, Western Europe and Latin America to follow in the coming months.

"pan provides us with capability to deliver high quality, easy to complete assessments not previously available in the web medium", remarked Scott Read, Senior Manager for P&G's Global Talent Supply organization. "Linked with our back end tracking system, pan delivered assessments will allow our recruiters to have access to the most complete candidate data available. They will be able to make faster decisions than ever before - in almost real-time."

"We are applying similar concepts being used to streamline and improve material acquisition to the acquisition of human capital. What a procurement officer would call 'Supply Chain Management' a human resource executive or recruiter might term 'Talent Supply Chain Management'", noted pan CEO David Pfenninger. "The just-in-time-delivery of the assessments to candidates and immediate capturing of data means added value in terms of accessibility and turn-around time for both job candidate and employer. Plus, studies now confirm that candidates prefer computerized application and testing processes."

"The project with P&G and their ATS is an example of a Web Services implementation. Applications that have open architectures and use web-based technologies such as XML allow companies to choose 'best in breed' solutions that look, feel, and behave like one seamless application. We expect to see more integration with other web-based applications used in the human resource, training and development, and clinical industries through similar Web Services implementations, "commented pan CMO Greg Lamb.
